Our care home in Bristol, Edgecumbe Lodge, is spacious Georgian House in Downend, Bristol.
The Home has operated for the last 40 years, and it is the Flag ship Home for Serenity Homes Ltd for the last 20 years.
It is a 20 bed facility, with combination of en-suite and communal showers. Allowing resident and Families choice, to be independent, feel comfortable and to have all their needs met.

Our Commitment to Quality Improvement
In August of last year, we received our CQC inspection report. While it highlighted that the quality of care we provide is good, it also identified areas of improvement in terms of safety and the environment. The report is reflective of that time, and we want to assure you that our service has since undergone major changes.
Additionally, we had a follow-up inspection in February 2024 under the new CQC framework. Due to some issues, we have not yet received our draft report from this inspection.
We take all feedback very seriously and are fully committed to addressing any issues. We have successfully implemented measures to address all the issues identified in our action plan to ensure we maintain these standards. Our priorities include:
- Enhancing Staff Training and Development: Ensuring all members of our team receive ongoing training to deliver the best care possible.
- Improving safety standards: Implementing and maintaining our new protocols and procedures to enhance safety and care quality.
- Upgrading facilities and equipment: Investing in our infrastructure to provide a better environment for people who live and work here.
- Strengthening communication: Fostering better communication between staff, residents and their families to ensure clarity and transparency in all interactions.
We are dedicated to making significant and lasting improvements. Our residents and staff deserve the best and we are committed to earning back their trust and confidence.
